This is a tricky question to answer as there are a number of factors that come into how successful someone can be as an affiliate marketer:
* Selecting the right products to promote. This sounds obvious, but if you choose a great program, then a lot of the hard work is done for you AND continues to be done.
* How willing the marketer is to test. Almost all of affiliate marketing (in my opinion) is about testing what works and what doesn’t. Over time sifting out what doesn’t work and sticking with what does. Unfortunately a lot of new marketers without proper training these days expect their first campaign to earn them 10’s of thousands and they give up when it doesn’t.
* Continued learning. Does a newly qualified lawyer have all the knowledge he/she needs to get to the very top? Hell no.. They need to continue learning, developing and rounding themselves into a better professional. Affiliate marketing is no different to any other industry, you have to take the rough with the smooth and learn, learn and learn.
To answer the question ‘how much do average affiliate marketers earn?’ a marketer who is prepared to do the above and keep sharpening their tools can expect to earn over $5,000 per month within their first year. Obviously more if you are exceptional and learn fast and invest in yourself by continuous learning.
